3 Sept. 2011 - HatYai Day 3

Had breakfast @ Salma's again.. Can't get enough of their roti canai.. apparently, they also serve very nice local coffee..

Spoke to a tuktuk driver kat luar restaurant tu kejap.. Asked about Songkhla Day Tour.. He charge ฿1000 for the same itinerary.. So peeps.. Here are some contact numbers that we managed to get for day tour trip..

Wit 081-5421741, 084-9631081
Abond Taxi Songkhla Tour 082-8022566
Hj. Yadid 087-2953694, 074-349085

There were lotsa travel agencies nearby our hotel.. You got to ask around - maybe you can get better rate.. If you are coming in a bigger group, you might want to consider booking a van in advance for your tour around HatYai and surrounds..

Initially we planned to go to the HatYai Municipal Park.. The tuktuk driver told us the place is situated in Songkhla and he's afraid we won't be able to make it back to the hotel by 12pm. basically, this is what we missed..

Hat Yai Municipal Park สาธารณะเทศบาลเมืองหาดใหญ่ - Things to see:

a) Guan Yin's Pavilion
b) Brahman Shrine
c) The statue of laughing Buddha
d) Hillside statue of Jade Emperor
e) Gold Coloured Buddha Statue at the hilltop
f) Excellent viewpoint of Hat Yai and Songkhla city from the hilltop

There are other places worth visiting in HatYai..

We then decided to bring the kids to the bazaar instead...

Saw this boxers (adult size) with Dora's pictures on it... Kinda scary, actually..

Found the things we were looking for..

Chop... ni ha restoram Hamid nearby our hotel...

Finally, it was time to go home.

Ingat nak singgah lunch kat Danok but hubby nak cepat.. Traffic was crazy right after the Thai border..

While we were stuck in the bad traffic, hubby told me his former colleagues used to drive up to Krabi from Alor Setar.. He had this crazy idea to do the same thing.. As for me, I'm always in for traveling.. and I'm 'turn-on' by 'exotic vacation' idea.. Road trips.. etc.. Bring it on, baby! Well.. I'm sure our parents will propose the idea.. Don't know why.. Maybe they are concern about their grandchildren, I guess.. My FIL even asked us to make a u-turn when we were about to enter Danok the other day.. LOL!

We shop for some duty-free stuffs (ciggies and chocolates) at the Duty-free Complex..

Due to the heavy traffic on the PLUS highway, we decided to go to my Makteh's place @ Kg. Surau Utan Aji, Perlis.. Nak rest.. Lunch.. Mandi.. Ingat nak bertolak to KL malam sikit.. My long-time bestfriend, Imah, came over to beraya with us..

somebody wanted the D90's shutter speed to be lowered..

us and Imah's clan..

We left Perlis very late.. Almost midnight.. Stop by @ Sg. Petani to take our stuffs and stop @ Semanggol RnR coz hubby was really tired... He overslept (almost 2 hours).. Subuh @ ulu bernam.. Safely arrived home @ 8.35am... اَلْحَمْدُلِلّهِ..

Tips: The area code for Thailand is 66.
If you see that the contact number provided have a 0 in front, skip it if you are calling from overseas.

Lets say you want to call Abond Taxi Songkhla Tour 082-8022566 using Malaysia's number, you have to skip the 0 and add +66 before the number.

So if you are using Celcom line in Hatyai, you call +66828022566

Take note: Thai people do not understand Thirty First of December, you have to say three one December (this tip I got from a website)
